La Planque du Joueur Used VWO to Test Visual Triggers on Casino Review Pages and Lift Click-Through Rate
About La Planque du Joueur
La Planque du Joueur is an online casino review platform that analyzes and evaluates casinos to help players make informed choices. The platform evaluates reliability, game variety, payment options, and bonuses to provide players with clear, objective assessments, whether they’re casual players or seasoned ones. The primary goal of those review pages is to capture visitors’ interest enough to encourage them to click through to a casino partner.
For a company where affiliate revenue depends directly on how well its review pages convert, optimizing that experience is crucial. La Planque du Joueur relied on VWO to keep conversion rates at their peak.
Why VWO?
As someone who relies heavily on data-driven decision-making, finding an A/B testing platform that balances a smooth user experience with rigorous data science can be a challenge. VWO hits that sweet spot perfectly. What I love most is its deep statistical results, as it gives us the ability to define the precise parameters we need to determine a truly successful experiment.

Goal
The casino review pages were built to send visitors to partner casinos. But the existing design wasn’t doing enough to stop the scroll and drive the outbound click to the casino partner website. The team wanted to identify a more effective visual trigger at the exact moment a visitor decides whether to engage or move on.
Observations
The existing pages used brand logos as the primary visual element. Accurate and informational, but passive. Logos tell visitors what they’re looking at, but they don’t create an immediate reason to stop and engage. The team observed that the logos weren’t functioning as attention triggers and weren’t strong enough to interrupt a visitor’s scroll and encourage an outbound click.
That gap pointed to a specific question: would more visually engaging imagery perform better at capturing attention than static brand logos?
Tests run
Hypothesis
The observation led to a hypothesis that replacing the static brand logos with a visual element would be more effective. It will halt the scroll and drive the outbound click. The content of the page wouldn’t change, just the visual doing the work of capturing attention first.
Changes Implemented
The team ran an A/B test using VWO Testing – Web. The control version used the existing brand logos as the primary visual on the review pages. The variation replaced those logos with animated figures to drive attention and encourage engagement. Everything else on the page remained the same.

Results
The variation outperformed the control, delivering a 20.23% increase in outgoing click-through rate. The results confirmed the team’s hypothesis that the primary constraint wasn’t the content or the casino offers, but the visual element responsible for capturing visitors’ attention at the right moment.
Conclusion
La Planque du Joueur didn’t change the offers they were promoting. They changed what visitors saw first and how quickly that visual created a reason to act. A single visual swap produced a lift in outbound clicks to casino partners.
