This report aims to help you create better On-page surveys and fetch higher number of responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We studied 1,154 On-page surveys created by different enterprises using VWO. The surveys contained 2,661 questions and received a total of 457,797 responses. We identified trends and patterns on how enterprises used the surveys and how visitors responded to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each factor involved, we\u2019ve analyzed both how websites have commonly used On-page Surveys and how their customers\/users have interacted with them. The report contains detailed insights under the following headings:<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"js-cro-guide-subheading gtm_heading \" data-level=\"level1\" data-menu=\"Number of Questions Used per Survey\" id=\"number-of-questions-used-per-survey\" data-menu-id=\"number-of-questions-used-per-survey\" style=\"text-align:left\">Number of Questions Used per Survey<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>We took a peek into the number of questions used per survey by various organizations and how that affected the completion rate of the survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quite unsurprisingly, surveys with the least number of questions, that is, single-questioned surveys received the highest completion rate.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"js-cro-guide-subheading gtm_heading \" data-level=\"level1\" data-menu=\"Types of Question Formats Used\" id=\"types-of-question-formats-used\" data-menu-id=\"types-of-question-formats-used\" style=\"text-align:left\">Types of Question Formats Used<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Next, we looked into the different types of question formats used such as <strong>select-based questions<\/strong>, <strong>checkbox-type question<\/strong>, <strong>single-line response based questions<\/strong>, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Checkbox type questions were preferred the most, as these gathered the highest completion rate while single-line and multi-line response-based questions had the lowest completion rate.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"js-cro-guide-subheading gtm_heading \" data-level=\"level1\" data-menu=\"Campaign Triggers Used\" id=\"campaign-triggers-used\" data-menu-id=\"campaign-triggers-used\" style=\"text-align:left\">Campaign Triggers Used<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The performance of a survey also varies depending on&nbsp;<strong>when<\/strong> it is flashed in front of the website visitors. You can choose different actions like \u201cclick an element,\u201d \u201ctime spent on page,\u201d \u201cexit intent,\u201d and so on, as triggers to display your surveys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report highlights that \u201cclick an element\u201d resulted in the highest completion rate.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"js-cro-guide-subheading gtm_heading \" data-level=\"level1\" data-menu=\"Position of the Survey\" id=\"position-of-the-survey\" data-menu-id=\"position-of-the-survey\" style=\"text-align:left\">Position of the Survey<\/h2>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vwo.com\/blog\/conversion-rate-marketing\/\">Analyzing the position or placement<\/a> of the survey also bore interesting results. Most companies opted for surveys placed on the right which also yielded marginally better results.
